Shoreline Planting at Jockey’s Ridge State Park

Join us for a volunteer planting event at Jockey’s Ridge State Park as part of the 50th Anniversary Legacy Project!
Volunteers, Jockey’s Ridge State Park, the Coastal Federation, and others will be working to expand the living shoreline along the soundside of Jockey’s Ridge by helping to plant marsh grass. Jockey’s Ridge is home to the tallest living dune system on the Atlantic Coast and includes wetland habitats on the Roanoke Sound.
Those interested in volunteering are asked to please consider bringing the following items:
- Closed-toed water shoes, boots, or sneakers that you don’t mind getting wet
- Please wear clothing that can get wet
- Sunscreen
- Hat
- Sunglasses
- Sunshirt/ loose clothing
- Hydration/water bottle and a snack
