The North Carolina Coastal Federation is the state’s only nonprofit organization focused exclusively on protecting and restoring the coast of North Carolina through education, advocacy, and habitat restoration and preservation. Formed in 1982, the Federation focuses on three main program areas: habitat restoration and protection; environmental education; and the encouragement of sound environmental rules and regulations and their enforcement. The Federation’s headquarters is located in Ocean. It also maintains field offices in Wrightsville Beach and in Wanchese.

Northeast Regional Coastal Scientist

The Coastal Scientist works as part of the northeast regional office team and with Federation departmental leaders to manage all aspects of coastal restoration activities within their assigned region of coastal North Carolina. Based upon the Federation’s goals and benchmarks, the coastal scientist identifies, obtains, seeks funding for, and carries out projects and programs that protect and restore coastal water quality and habitats.

Data Manager

The Data Manager is part of the operations team and will report directly to the Finance Director. The primary responsibilities of the Data Manager are for accounting assistance and donor fulfillment.
