This edition of the Coastal Federation’s Our Coast opens with an look back on the 6,000 acre, 23-year long, North River restoration project that the Federation completed in early 2023. The strides made in improving our state’s water quality are explored through the lenses of legislative support which leads into the living shorelines work the Federation partnered on with the North Carolina Department of Transportation. This edition covers the oyster related NOAA Grants received by the Federation and the plans for those funds as well as the organizations recent and ongoing victories in reducing marine debris in and around the NC coast.
