Big Beach and Island Cleanup
February 21 @ 9:30 am – 11:30 am

In partnership with ThriveOBX, an initiative of Outer Banks Health and the Dare County Health Department, we are excited to share information about the Big Beach & Island Cleanup happening on Saturday, February 21, 2026. The goal is to have as many beach accesses cleaned as possible between Duck and Hatteras as well as to have volunteers cleanup in Manteo at the Washington Baum Bridge and the Marine Industrial Park in Wanchese on this one specific day.
The Coastal Federation will be leading the efforts on Roanoke Island, with two meeting locations available in Manteo or Wanchese. We will have team leaders to loan supplies at the Washington Baum Bridge Boating Access area, as well as at our regional office in Wanchese in the Marine Industrial Park.

This is an official Thrive Month event featured in the Playbook, so give yourself a high five for joining in! Didn’t purchase a Playbook? No worries—this event is open to everyone. Together, we can help clean more than 74 miles of coastline. Healthy beaches, healthy community!
