2017 Hatteras Island Oyster Roast
February 4, 2017 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm
An oyster roast for the coast — join us around the fire at Oden’s Dock for the 2017 old-fashioned oyster roast that will also help give back to our coastal environment! On Saturday, Feb. 4, from 1-5 p.m., we’ll have fresh oysters on hand, seafood chowder and other refreshments. Be sure to save room for homemade dessert from the bake sale.
Hear live music from a local band and enjoy good company among federation staff, board members and volunteers. This laid-back community event will celebrate local seafood and a healthy coast for a good cause. Special thanks to the Outer Banks Visitors Bureau for sponsoring this event.
Half of the proceeds from the event will support local storm relief effort through the Hatteras United Methodist Church, while the other 50 percent will benefit the North Carolina Coastal Federation’s northeast programs.
The first 200 people that purchase tickets in advance will get a free high-quality, branded oyster knife. Limit one knife per household to be picked up in person at the event. Tickets can be purchased in advance online, at the federation’s Wanchese office or at Oden’s Dock. They are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Ticket price includes all-you-can-eat oysters, one serving of chowder, corn bread and a drink. Beer will be available for an additional fee.
This event is planned to take place outdoors, so please dress accordingly. In the case of extremely bad weather, the event will take place at the Hatteras Village Civic Center.
Thank you to The Outer Banks Visitors Bureau for sponsoring this event!
