Coastal Ambassador Training: Tuesday Night Turtle Talks
June 25 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm
We invite anyone interested in volunteering with the North Carolina Coastal Federation to attend our orientation session from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25 at our coastal education center located at 309 W. Salisbury St. Wrightsville Beach, NC 28480.
Afterwards, our returning volunteers and coastal ambassadors will join us at 6:30 p.m. for an update on the federation’s events and activities before joining the Tuesday Night Sea Turtle Talks hosted by the Wrightsville Beach Sea Turtle Project at 7 p.m. We will have the opportunity to learn about the nesting loggerhead sea turtles of Wrightsville Beach and what we can do to protect them. The federation believes in forming strong partnerships within our community because we understand it is the most effective way to preserve and restore our coast.
The Southeast Coastal Ambassadors are a special group of volunteers that serve as representatives of the federation. The program is designed to be fun and interactive, allowing volunteers to socialize with one another while learning more about the work of the federation and our coastal environment. Volunteers qualify to be a Southeast Coastal Ambassador when they have attended at least three trainings per year and participated in a minimum of three federation volunteer events. Those who wish to join the Coastal Ambassadors group are required to attend an orientation training session held at 5:30 p.m. before the evening program meetings. The next evening program and orientation will be Tuesday, July 30. This program is for people 16 years or older.
