Other Ways to Help
Matching Gifts
Many companies offer a matching gift program to their employees to encourage support of organizations like the N.C. Coastal Federation. If you do not know if your employer is a matching company, please check with your human resources department. Please include your matching gift form with your donation or mail it at the time you make a donation to: NC Coastal Federation, 3609 Highway 24, Newport, NC 28570. This extra support is appreciated.
Gifts of Stock
We appreciate gifts of stock, which while helping the federation advance its work, may also have tax benefits for you. Please consult with your tax advisor to see if a stock donation may be of benefit to your tax situation.
We prefer that stock be electronically transferred rather than certificates mailed to the office. To set up a transfer, please contact:

Contributions may be made to the federation or to the Community Foundation if the foundation holds the fund. Named endowments may be established with a minimum donation of $5,000.

Planned Gifts
The Pelican Circle recognizes coastal stewards who have included the federation in their will or estate plans. Through a provision in your will, you can make a simple, yet significant gift that will continue your interest and provide for the future of the Federation’s work. You can leave a dollar amount, specific property, stock, an insurance policy or a portion of your estate to the North Carolina Coastal Federation, Inc. Please consult your attorney to ensure that all legal requirements are met and that your wishes are fully understood.
Each year Pelican Circle members are invited to join the executive director for a special on-the-water outing for a personal look at our work. To learn more or to notify us that you’ve included the Federation in your plans, please contact the federation’s Development Director, Sally Steele, at 252-393-8185 or sallys@nccoast.org.
