Public input is invited on Thursdays at 9am. For meeting agendas and further information, check out the Division of Coastal Management web page.
    • Coastal Habitat Protection Plans
The Coastal Habit Protection Plans are the result of the state Fisheries Reform Act of 1997, which directed the Department of Environment and Natural Resources to develop plans for protecting habitats necessary to support and maintain coastal fisheries. The same legislation gave the three commissions the responsibility of reviewing, approving and ultimately implementing the plans.
    • Marine Fisheries Commission
The MFC is a citizen's commission appointed by the governor to make rules and regulations from the laws that specifically affect marine fisheries. Meetings are open to the public. For meetings times and location visit the Division of Marine Fisheries website or call them at 252-726-7021.
    • Environmental Management Commission
The EMC is a governor-appointed commission that deals with environmental issues affecting the coast and other areas in the state. This commission meets in the ground-floor hearing room of the Archdale Building at 512 N. Salisbury Street in downtown Raleigh. Meetings begin at 9am and are open to the public.
