Clean House (and the Creek) at Hoop Pole

Atlantic Beach – Join the North Carolina Coastal Federation on Saturday, March 6 for the annual "Spring Cleaning" and oyster bagging at Hoop Pole Creek. The creek is a unique 31-acre preserve in Atlantic Beach. Bought in 1997 by NCCF with a grant from the NC Clean Water Management Trust Fund, the land is now home to a self-guided nature trail that allows visitors to learn more about maritime forests, wetlands, and the abundance of diverse wildlife found in these ecosystems. NCCF also uses the Hoop Pole site for an oyster restoration project.
Our "Spring Cleaning" is a chance for people to have a positive impact on Bogue Banks. Volunteers will help pick up trash, trim shrubs, assist in trail maintenance, bag some oyster shell for an oyster-reef project, and have a great time. After a morning of hard work, refreshments will be provided.
Volunteers are asked to register by March 1 so we can plan for the day. Please call the North Carolina Coastal Federation at 252-393-8185 or email us at nccf@nccoast.org.
