Coastal Cohorts Concert Tickets on Sale Now

Morehead City, NC  – Tickets to hear the popular Coastal Cohorts in concert are on sale now. And if past history holds true, tickets may be hard to come by a few days before the concerts.

The Core Sound Waterfowl Museum and Heritage Center and the North Carolina Coastal Federation will present The COASTAL COHORTS (Don Dixon, Bland Simpson, and Jim Wann) in concert, performing songs from their popular coastal show KING MACKEREL & THE BLUES ARE RUNNING as well as from their new CD release WILD PONIES: More Songs from the Carolina Coast.

The concerts will take place at the Crystal Coast Civic Center in Morehead City, June 28-30 at 8 pm.  A 3 pm Matinee has been added on Saturday to accommodate more people.  “It’s exciting when the Cohorts come to town, and their two previous appearances have been sell-outs,” stated Karen Amspacher, Executive Director of the Core Sound Waterfowl Museum and Heritage Center. “Our phone will be ringing off the hook from now until concert time. Saturday night is already half sold so we encourage people to order their tickets early.”

The Coastal Cohorts’ appearance this year features a different venue and a slightly different format.  Cohort Bland Simpson explains, “We’d performed the show King Mackerel & The Blues Are Running two years in a row, and this time we wanted shake up the mix a bit – so we decided to do a concert including most of the songs from King Mackerel & The Blues Are Running along with many from our new CD Wild Ponies. We’re also pleased to be performing in the Crystal Coast Civic Center.  What better place to celebrate the coast than right by Bogue Sound?”

Tickets are $20 General Admission, $15 for CSWMHC and NCCF members.  The Crystal Coast Civic Center is located at 3505 Arendell Street in Morehead City, NC. Tickets are available at Emerald Isle Realty, the NCCF office in Ocean, and the CSWMHC.  For tickets by mail call the Museum at 252-728-1500.  For sponsorship with reserved seating call or visit NCCF at 252-393-8185 or www.nccoast.org or CSWMHC at 252-728-1500 or www.coresound.com
