Tiller Middle School

by Sarah Phillips last modified 09-12-2006 09:05

Tiller Middle School, located at 1600 Fisher Street in Morehead City, is a small public charter school for seventh through ninth graders. Tiller Elementary School is located in nearby Beaufort and offers education for younger students. First-year teacher Anna Beckwith expressed interest in the program during the 2005-2006 school year and got the program going. This year, a new teacher will be taking over and getting her students involved. Tiller students learn best by "doing" and they look forward to another year of learning with this project.

This is the second year Tiller Middle School has been involved with the Coastal Federation and wetland plantings. They have helped to plant over 2,000 Spartina alterniflora plants.
