Friends School of Wilmington, located at 350 Peiffer Avenue in Wilmington, is an independent Montessori school for sixth through eighth graders. Science and technology teacher Bruce Kenney and his students work most closely with the Wetland Nursery Program. The sixth and seventh graders are trained through NCCF in the fall and spring regarding all aspects of the nursery program. They teach and work together each spring when it is time to plant.

This is the fourth year the Friends School has been involved with the Coastal Federation and wetland plantings. They have helped to plant over 6,000 Spartina Alterniflora plants.
