An easy way to keep up-to-date on coastal issues and happenings is with our monthly cable show, "Coastal Review." Watch NCCF's "Coastal Review" every Wednesday at 9 pm on Time-Warner's public access channel 10 (Morehead City). We discuss news, events, local and state-wide environmental issues, and talk with guests from around North Carolina. The "Coastal Review" also shows at specially scheduled times in the Wilmington and Raleigh areas.

Oyster Restoration Project Completed

Our October show featured a special project that the Coastal Federation completed after nine months of work. The Albemarle-Pamlico National Estuary Program, the North Carolina National Estuarine Research Reserve, Carteret Community College’s aquaculture program, Cape Lookout Marine Science High School students, and the North Carolina Coastal Federation have been working together in this partnership since January 2005. The goals of this project include oyster habitat restoration, improved water quality in a local watershed in Carteret County, and education and stewardship.

The oyster restoration project was documented in a video entitled, "The Eastern Oyster." VHS tapes and DVD's are available by calling Sarah Phillips at 252-393-8185.
